This 8-week evening course offers an engaging introduction to the Latin language, blending grammar lessons with the fascinating history, literature, and culture of Rome. No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and a desire to uncover the roots of the modern world!
We’ll start by mastering the Latin alphabet, pronunciation, and basic sentence structure, before diving into the present tense and building your Latin vocabulary. Along the way, you’ll discover the everyday life of Romans, from bustling marketplaces to household dynamics, while exploring the influence of legendary poets like Virgil and Ovid
We will explore more than just language! Together, we will journey through the grand arenas of gladiatorial combat, the spiritual world of Roman gods, and the vibrant literary scene, culminating in a fun Toga Party, where you’ll participate in a short play and experience Roman entertainment first-hand.
