Courses run for 5 to 10 weeks and are open to anybody aged 16 or older (except QQI courses, for which you must be 17 or older on enrolment). The full list of courses can be viewed here.

Enrolling on a class

Classes can be enrolled over the phone (01-8482217), online, by post, or in person on the in-school enrolment days/evenings.

Payments

Your place on a course can only be guaranteed once full payment has been made.  A debit or credit card is required to enrol online or over the phone, though cheque payments can be made on the enrolment evening or by post. Please put your card number on the back of cheques. Please not that prices quoted do not include the €1.50 administration fee per transaction (you only pay once if enrolling for two or more courses/people in the one payment).

There are additional costs for some courses (ingredients, equipment materials). See individual course descriptions for details of what is included in the course price, and what courses have additional requirements.

Online Payments with Easy Payments Plus

Easy Payments Plus is the online payments system which we use to accept debit or credit card payments.  When you click on the Enrol Online button on our homepage  or elsewhere on this website, you will be taken to the Donahies Community School Adult Education section of the Easy Payments Plus website.

You will be prompted to register with your email address and password the first time you use this system.  Follow the instructions on the screen to select the appropriate items(s) and enter your card details when prompted. You will receive a receipt via email for every payment you make.  Once registered, you can log in to your account at any time and look at payments you have made.

All payments processed using EPP are done using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology which ensures the security of the transaction as it is being processed. All payments are processed by a PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant payment processor, which ensures all card holder data is managed securely.

Why we ask for your contact details

When enrolling on a course, you will be asked for your contact details.  We do not distribute or sell these details to anybody outside of the Donahies Community School Adult Education programme.  Your address is gathered to validate your credit card details, and gives us some idea of where participants come from (which helps us to promote our courses).  Your mobile number is used should we need to contact you for any reason.  If classes are cancelled at short notice for any reason (e.g. tutor illness; snow), we will send you a text message.  A receipt for your payment will automatically be sent to your email address. Teachers also use their class email lists to distribute information.  We may also, from time to time, send you emails or text messages to remind you the enrolments are open. All personal information is collected and stored in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).

Refunds

All our courses are non-refundable, unless there are insufficient numbers for the class to form.  A small number of classes do not form each term, and in such cases, students who have enrolled will be notified and can either swap to another class or be offered a full refund.  There is no discount for those who cannot attend all evenings of the course.

Closed days

Classes do not run on bank holidays.

New courses

We are always looking for ideas of new classes that we can run, and for new teachers.  If there is a course that you would like to see offered, or if you are suitably qualified and would like to run a class, then please get in touch.
